REDCap

Body

Why can't I access REDCap off-campus?

Connect to LSA using the GlobalProtect VPN before accessing REDCap.

  1. Download and install the GlobalProtect VPN client if you do not already have it.
  2. Connect to Loyola Secure Access (LSA) using your GlobalProtect VPN credentials.
  3. Once connected, navigate to the appropriate REDCap instance (Internal or External) via the REDCap website.
  4. Log in with your LUC credentials (or NAP account if applicable).
  5. If you still cannot access REDCap after connecting through GlobalProtect, contact IT support for assistance.

Why can't my team access REDCap?

You need to request access to Internal or External REDCap for yourself or your research team members (including LUMC/LUHS personnel, students, or student workers).
Submit a request using the REDCap Access Request Form through the ITS Service Portal.

  1. Submit the REDCapp Access Request From from this service catalog.
  2. Provide all required details, including the LUC sponsor name if requesting for LUMC/LUHS personnel or students.
  3. Submit the form and wait for confirmation from ITS.
  4. If access does not become available after confirmation, ensure that you have the correct credentials and retry the login.
  5. If you continue to experience issues, contact your local full time faculty/staff person or IT support for further assistance.

Why is my REDCap MFA not working?

You are having trouble with the External REDCap’s built-in MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), or you got a new phone and need to re-scan the QR code.
Reconfigure MFA settings for External REDCap and, if necessary, contact IT for assistance

  1. Review the provided instructions in the attached PDF for setting up MFA on External REDCap.
  2. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app and ensure you have both your standard LUC account and the separate REDCap account configured.
  3. If you have a new phone or need to re-scan the QR code, contact IT support for assistance in generating a new QR code.
  4. Follow the instructions provided by IT to re-add the REDCap account to your authenticator app.
  5. Test the MFA process by logging into External REDCap and confirming that the authentication request is successfully received.
