Bitlocker is an anti-theft application running on University workstations carrying a barcode (the six-digit number found on a white sticker affixed to the PC).

The most common way to clear away a Bitlocker Recovery Key prompt is to check for the following:

  1. Remove any USB storage devices, then reboot the PC.
  2. Remove any disc within the CD-Rom drive, then reboot the PC.

If Bitlocker still prompts for a Recovery Key after checking the above steps, please contact the ITS Self-Service Portal.
