Students living in Residence Halls may want to play online multiplayer games on a Nintendo Switch. However, Nintendo uses a peer-to-peer networking technology for multiplayer games that the University’s wireless network does not support.
We recommend the following work-around which will assign a unique public facing IP address to the Switch, allowing online multiplayer games:
- Dock the Switch.
- Connect the Switch to an Ethernet port using a USB to Ethernet adapter (available for purchase from Nintendo).
