To format an SD Memory Card for the Zoom H5 or Zoom H6 Audio Recorder:
- Insert the SD Card in the slot on the Zoom H5
- Turn on Zoom H5 and press the Menu button on the right-hand side of the recorder
- Use the toggle wheel to scroll down to choose SD Card, and press down on the toggle wheel to enter this menu
- Use the toggle wheel to scroll down to choose Format, and press down on the toggle wheel to select
- The device will prompt: "Are you sure?" press down on the toggle wheel to select Yes.
The SD Card is now fully formatted and any prior data has been erased.
Formatting SD Cards or internal memory within for equipment loan items helps to ensure proper internal folder structures are configured for optimal use, removes all prior data to help ensure maximum storage space, and is recommended for users to complete after transferring footage and prior to returning the equipment.
Keep in mind that Digital Media Services will always format all devices with internal memory, memory cards, or hard drives after return and prior to checkout as best data security practices.
