Loyola Laptop Procedures - Windows 10

How Do I Log Into My Loyola Laptop?

  1. Ensure your laptop is connected to an active network connection (via a network cable or dock) for the first login.
  2. Log in using your Loyola UVID and password, just like you would on any University computer.
  3. When off-campus, continue to use your Loyola UVID and password. Windows 10 will locally cache the credentials of the last few people who logged in. Ensure you have logged in successfully while on campus before leaving.

Where Do I Save My Data on the Laptop?

You should save your data on OneDrive, SharePoint or your network drives whenever possible. OneDrive and SharePoint are accessible anywhere via the portal login: portal.office.com

Network Drives: If you are off-campus and do not have LSA access, you can access your Documents Library by:

  1. Double-clicking the This PC shortcut on your desktop.
  2. Viewing all libraries, including the Documents Library, listed in the left-hand column.

How Do I Access Data on my computer or network drive(s) remotely?

Before Leaving Campus:

  1. If you do not have LSA access, request and install LSA and GlobalProtect from the Help Desk. For more information, visit LSA and GlobalProtect Information.

    • Double-click the This PC shortcut on your desktop.
    • Right-click the N: or U: drive in the left-hand column.
    • Select Copy.
    • Go to your desktop, right-click in an open area, and select Paste Shortcut.

After Leaving Campus:
