How Do I Use Remote Desktop Connection to Access My Loyola Workstation?
This article explains how Faculty and Staff can connect to their Loyola Windows workstation remotely using Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). Access policies for students and student workers are also outlined.
Faculty & Staff Access
Faculty and Staff (not students or student workers) may use Remote Desktop Connection to connect remotely to their Loyola Windows workstation. The workstation must be powered on and connected to the network via Ethernet. You do not need to be logged in.
Student and Student Worker Access
Student access to the Remote Desktop service while off-campus is forbidden according to present security policies. However, Faculty or Staff members may request ITS to grant a student access to an on-campus PC using Remote Desktop. The request must specify that the student will need access to Loyola Secure Access (LSA) / GlobalProtect to connect and use Remote Desktop while off-campus. Submit the request here: Request Remote Desktop Access.
Using Remote Desktop Connection on Windows
Note: If you are using Windows 10 Home edition, it does not support inbound Remote Desktop Connections. However, it allows you to connect from that workstation to your Loyola Windows workstation.
