Velos eResearch is a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). It is also a web application used by the Loyola University Medical Center. Use the following link to access the application: https://velos.luc.edu/velos/jsp/ereslogin.jsp.
Access to Velos:
Access to Velos is based on a request by the Velos Functional User Support group. The following individuals are currently authorized to submit requests for user access to the Velos application:
- Cecilia Petrowsky--Manager, Cancer Clinical Trials Office
- Brianna Burke--Operations Manager, Clinical Research Office
Your access to Velos:
Once you have been granted access to the Velos application, you will receive a ‘secure’ email that will contain the Velos URL and your temporary e-signature. To log into Velos you will use your current LUC credentials.
Accessing Velos:
To access the application, you need to be connected to the Loyola network either on campus or via Loyola Secure Access (LSA). To connect to the Loyola network using LSA, install the Global Protect software to your work desktop, as well as your home device, if working remotely. This link will provide details on how to install the Global Protect software.
NOTE: If you are working at your work location or within any of the Loyola campuses, you must still use Global Protect to log in to Velos eResearch.
Installing Global Protect:
- Once you have installed Global Protect, you will need to make sure you are using the correct connection.
- When you are setting up your connection, you must use "secureaccess2.luc.edu" and not "secureaccess.luc.edu". Both connections are safe and will give you LSA access; however, only "secureaccess2.luc.edu" will give you access to Velos.
- If you are using "secureaccess.luc.edu" to connect to Velos, you need to change the connection to "secureaccess2.luc.edu", here are the steps to change the connection.
- Open Global Protect and click on the three horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner, then click on Settings.
- In the General tab, review the information in the Portals section. If it shows "secureaccess2.luc.edu", close the window and proceed to log in. If it shows "secureaccess.luc.edu", then click Add.
- In the portal address, enter "secureaccess2.luc.edu", then hit Save.
- The Portals section should now have the "secureaccess2.luc.edu" listed as well as "secureaccess.luc.edu".
- In the Portals section, click on "secureaccess.luc.edu", so it's highlighted. Now, click on Delete. You will be asked to confirm the Delete, so click Delete.
- Now the General tab should have only "secureaccess2.luc.edu" listed in the Portals section.
- Click on the X in the right-hand corner to get out of the Settings page.
- Now, when you open Global Protect, the Sign In screen should have Portal: secureaccess2.luc.edu listed.
- Now you can enter your LUC credentials and once you have approved the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) notification, you will be logged into the LSA and will be able to log into Velos eResearch.
Technical Difficulties:
If you have established the correct "secureaccess2.luc.edu" connection to Velos and are having difficulties logging in, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 773-508-1ITS (4487) or via email at ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu.
Please assign the ticket to BSI Team to resolve.
