ePortfolio / Learning Portfolio Program

A learning portfolio (ePortfolio) is a digital collection of student work, reflections, and educational experiences that showcases a student’s development over time. It highlights skills, abilities, values, and experiences in an online format.

The purpose of a learning portfolio is to:

  1. Catalyze integrative learning: Encourages the integration of knowledge across academic disciplines.
  2. Contribute to holistic development: Supports personal, academic, and career growth.
  3. Encourage active reflection and meaning-making: Promotes reflection within academic disciplines and on the university experience as a whole.
  4. Facilitate integration of topics and themes: Connects concepts across disciplines and over time.
  5. Provide a forum for synthesizing learning and sharing work: Offers an opportunity to share work with others and receive feedback.
  6. Serve as a resource for job-searching: Demonstrates skills, abilities, and experiences to potential employers.

What does a learning portfolio include?

A learning portfolio may contain various artifacts—relevant documents, media files, and academic work—that represent you both academically and professionally. It can serve multiple functions, including:

  • Collecting and sharing academic work with faculty members.
  • Inviting collaboration and feedback from peers.
  • Documenting your growth and learning journey.
