How do I install a Windows Update?

1. Click on the Start menu.
2. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
3. Select Check for Windows updates.
4. If updates are available, select Download & install.
5. Your device will download and install the updates. If prompted, restart your device to apply the updates.
6. Then if you can click on “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.
   
   

   If presented with updates, please allow them to download and install. A computer restart may be required after the updates are completed.

7. Restart your computer and log back in.

How do i install a MacOS Update?

1. Before You Begin: It’s a good idea to back up your Mac before installing new software. Ensure that your Mac is connected to the Internet and battery is well over 50%.
2. Use Software Update:
   1. Open Software Update. You can use Spotlight in the menu bar to search for "Software Update" or open it from the settings:
   2. Click the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then select Software Update.
   3. In earlier versions of macOS, go to the Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Software Update.
   4. Software Update will automatically check for new software. If available, click the Update or Upgrade button.
3. If your software is up to date: If no updates are available, Software Update will indicate that your Mac is up to date. Software Update only shows updates compatible with your Mac model.
4. Admin Password: You may be asked to enter your administrator password before installation begins.
5. Installation Process: During installation, your Mac may restart several times and show a progress bar or blank screen.

If Software Update is not available: If your older Mac doesn't include Software Update, use the App Store instead. Navigate to the Updates tab in the App Store or search for software by name.
