What is Cayuse?
Cayuse is Loyola University Chicago's electronic research administration (eRA) system used to support the research lifecycle. The platform allows researchers and administrators to create and submit sponsored research proposals, manage awards and contracts, submit research compliance protocols, and complete Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures.

How do I access Cayuse?
To access Cayuse:

1. Open a web browser and navigate to the Loyola Office of Research Services (ORS) Cayuse webpage: https://luc.app.cayuse.com/
2. Select the appropriate Cayuse Login link provided by the Office of Research Services.
3. Sign in using your Loyola University Chicago credentials when prompted.
4. Select the appropriate Cayuse module based on your research activity (such as Sponsored Projects, Human Ethics, Animal Oversight, Biosafety, or Conflict of Interest).
5. If you are unable to access Cayuse or believe you should have additional permissions, contact the Office of Research Services at 773.508.2471 or ors@luc.edu

What can I use Cayuse for?
Cayuse supports multiple research administration functions, including:

1. Creating and submitting sponsored research proposals.
2. Managing grant awards, subawards, and research contracts.
3. Submitting and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) protocols.
4. Completing and updating Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures.
5. Tracking research projects and compliance activities throughout the approval process.
