Extended Reality (XR) at Loyola University Chicago encompasses a range of immersive technologies including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) that enrich learning experiences. XR offers faculty innovative tools to create impactful, interactive, and research-backed learning environments. Loyola’s Learning Technologies & Innovation support team supports XR learning by providing consultation, design collaboration, and equipment for AR/VR integration in course delivery.

  • Custom Activity & Assessment Development: Learning Technologies & Innovation provides assistance in developing course activities and assessments that effectively use XR technology to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Health Sciences Focus: Priority is given to Health Sciences faculty for XR resources and support, particularly for training simulations and patient-care scenarios.
  • Flexible Access & Setup Assistance: Learning Technologies & Innovation offers guidance on equipment setup and deployment to facilitate seamless XR experiences for both in-person and remote learners.

This service is provided at no additional cost to eligible* individuals or departments, as it is fully funded by the institution.
