CRDB (Clinical Research Database)

Overview

The Clinical Research Database ("CRDB") is an initiative by the Loyola University Chicago Health Sciences Division to support clinical research. Built on an advanced Hadoop computing cluster, the CRDB serves as a large-scale data repository that integrates information from affiliated institutions.

Key Features

  • Customizable Cohort Queries: Allows users to generate customized cohort queries based on ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes, procedure codes (CPT or ICD-PX), medications, and labs.
  • Supports Preparatory to Research Activities: Assists in identifying new clinical research projects and assessing participant counts for proposed studies.
  • Study Participant Count: Helps assess study participant counts to determine if a proposed study will meet cohort requirements.

Benefits

  • Research Planning: Researchers can utilize CRDB to perform preparatory to research queries, assisting in identifying if a proposed study has sufficient participants to meet cohort requirements.
  • Research Opportunity Identification: Helps researchers identify potential research opportunities based on available data.
