Wasabi (Media Asset Management)

Overview

Wasabi is a cloud-based backup solution used by Loyola University Chicago to protect rich multimedia assets associated with the Media Asset Management (MAM) environment. The service provides off-site, virtual backup for content stored on Scale Logic systems, following Server Operations backup recommendations to ensure data resilience, availability, and recovery. Wasabi was launched in Spring 2025 to strengthen the University’s media data protection strategy.

This service is centrally funded by the University and provided at no additional cost to participating departments.
