  1. Go to Outlook.luc.edu.
  2. Sign in using your personal UVID and password.
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to your name in the upper-right corner.
  4. Select 'Open Another Account,' then enter the name of the shared mailbox. A new tab should open for that shared mailbox.
  5. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the shared mailbox account tab.
  6. Select 'Set Automatic Replies.' This should open a composition window where you can create the desired automatic reply.

How to Resolve "Undeliverable" Messages When Emailing Loyola University Medical Center Physicians?

In June 2018, changes to email accounts for Loyola University Medical Center physicians may result in "Undeliverable" messages when emailing otherwise functional addresses. The solution involves clearing and updating the Auto-Complete list in Outlook. Here are two methods:

Clear the Entire Auto-Complete List

  1. Click File > Options > Mail.
  2. Click the "Empty Auto-Complete List" button.
  3. Open a new email message.
  4. Click the Address Book icon on the top ribbon.
  5. Search for the name/address of the recipient.
  6. Double-click the contact line.
  7. Send the message.

From this point, Outlook will repopulate the name/address in the Auto-Complete feature.

Clear Individual Email Addresses from the Auto-Complete List

  1. Open a new email message.
  2. Begin typing the name/address of the recipient in the "To:" line.
  3. Click the black X on the far-right side of the Auto-Completed contact line.
  4. Click the Address Book icon on the top ribbon.
  5. Search for the name/address of the recipient.
  6. Double-click the contact line.
  7. Send the message.
  8. Repeat these steps as needed for each additional contact.

From this point, Outlook will repopulate the name/address in the Auto-Complete feature.
