Kronos

Overview

Kronos is a time and attendance system used by Loyola University for managing employee time cards. It allows staff, faculty, and supervisors to accurately track and approve work hours, including those worked remotely. Employees can access Kronos remotely to record their time, request time off, and ensure their time cards are completed and approved by the necessary deadlines. The system is used for bi-weekly payroll processing and is essential for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Features

  • Remote Access: Employees can access Kronos remotely to log in and manage their time cards from anywhere, ensuring they can record hours worked while off-campus or working remotely.
  • Time card Approvals: Managers and supervisors can review and approve employee time cards, ensuring compliance with payroll deadlines and company policies.
  • Exception Tracking: Non-exempt employees can record their In and Out times each day, including time off (e.g., sick, vacation, or personal days), making it easier to track any exceptions to regular work schedules.
  • Bi-Weekly Pay Period Tracking: The system is aligned with Loyola’s bi-weekly pay periods, ensuring that time cards are completed and approved by the necessary deadlines for payroll processing.
  • Time card Deadlines: Employees are required to complete and submit their time cards by noon on Monday after the pay period ends, with manual time cards due by 2pm via email to payroll@luc.edu.
  • Holiday and Pay Calendar: Employees can refer to the Pay & Holiday Calendar to understand important dates related to the payroll schedule and holidays.

This service is provided at no additional cost to eligible* individuals or departments, as it is fully funded by the institution.
