How Long Do Faculty & Staff Have Access to Applications and Services?

Application and Service Access Timelines

Application and service access depends on a number of factors. Here are the access timelines for the most common University applications and services.

Microsoft (Formerly Office) 365

Note: While Loyola will offer alumni access to email, please keep in mind there are several related services that are only available for enrolled students. Once you graduate, the following services are no longer offered due to licensing constraints:

  • Access to Office Web Apps on Office 365.
  • Access to OneDrive for Business on Office 365.
  • Access to SharePoint on Office 365.

Note: Your documents will remain in read-only mode until the installation of another compatible software application or a new Microsoft Application License is purchased.

The license would be restored should a person return to the University as an employee or student.

Email, Handshake, and Wi-Fi

University accounts remain active for two years after the last term enrolled in classes. Alumni may opt-in to retain indefinite access to their email accounts, on-campus Wi-Fi, and Handshake by enrolling at: Loyola Alumni Email for Life Program

Alumni may enroll in the program even if their University account had expired. To request enrollment, send an email containing the UVID to the Service Desk at: ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu

LOCUS / Sakai

Access to LOCUS and Sakai remains for two years after the last term enrolled in classes. Access would be restored should a person return to the University as an employee or student.
